Strategic Content. Done For You.

Here is an overview of the type of content creation I specialize in:

eBooks/Business Books

An eBook is typically a PDF document that is anywhere from 5 to 25 pages long on a topic of interest to your customers and prospects. It is written to inform, educate or instruct your readers. Ultimately, however, the goal of your eBook is to generate leads for your sales team.

These short, often graphically-rich documents are typically used as bonuses for subscribers, offers for interested prospects, and – most commonly – as lead magnets, or free downloads, to attract subscribers to your email list.

They can take the form of how-to guides, educational pieces, customer success stories, special reports, or even insider information for your particular industry. An eBook can even be used by your customers and prospects to share with their own clients and audience. The net result is that your brand is solidly positioned as an authority.

Business books, of course, are typically just that – published books on subjects that are business-related. As an entrepreneur, solo-operator or small business owner, you can benefit greatly from having a book.

According an October 2012 article at Forbes,

In 2006, Mike Schultz, principal of the Wellesley Hills Group, of Framingham, Mass., decided to find out. His firm, a marketing consultancy for professional service providers, released the results of a survey of 200 business-book authors. They called it The Business impact of Writing a Book. In an article in BusinessWeek that same year, Schulz said “The vast majority of the authors we surveyed — 96% — said they did realize a significant positive impact on their businesses from writing a book and would recommend the practice.”

With the help of a ghostwriter, becoming a published author can require as little as 40 hours of your time. In addition, not every business owner has the wherewithal to write a 200-plus page manuscript. And even if the could, they certainly don’t have the time.

But even ghostwriters can be mediocre. If you’ve read a few ghost-written business books (and many are) you’ve probably noticed how many of them sound the same – and you can appreciate the difference that a good ghostwriter can make.

Ghostwriters do the labor-intensive work of interviewing and writing, and the good ones can take an extemporaneous conversation and turn it into polished, compelling content without losing the unique voice.

White Papers

What is a white paper actually? Well, according to HubSpot:

A white paper is a persuasive, authoritative, in-depth report on a specific topic that presents a problem and provides a solution.

Marketers create white papers to educate their audience about a particular issue, or explain and promote a particular methodology. They’re advanced problem-solving guides. Typically, white papers require at least an email address for download (usually they require information more than that), making them great for capturing leads.

Why should you use them? Because they’re an effective tool for both your prospects and your sales team. White papers can help you build credibility and trust with your prospects. And, in the B2B realm, prospective buyers who download white papers will be moved further into the customer buying cycle.

Case Studies

Case Studies are far more than mere examples of customers who have used your product or service. In fact, according to a description from Content Marketing Institute:

Also known as success stories, case studies are a proven way to convince prospects to make a purchase. After all, they feature your customers describing how your product helped them. Excerpts from one case study can be used across your content marketing channels – from website copy to blog posts and landing pages.

Well written case studies can be compelling tools for taking your leads and prospects along the buyer’s journey. And case studies can be used to help your sales team by giving them content in a format that they can share with prospects to prove your product or service works.

Articles

Articles in a trade journals or business magazines can generate a rush of interest and traffic to your company’s site. An informative and search optimized blog article can produce ongoing search engine results for years. And a stand-alone article not intended for magazine or blog publication can be used as a lead magnet PDF, an ebook, published on social media sites, a “pillar page” on your website, and in a number of other formats.

Content marketing has taken on a distinctly journalistic mode over the last decade and this trend is only growing. Well-written and informative articles can be powerful and strategic content marketing tools in your promotional kit.
